Hi, I'm Lisa
That's me holding up the left side of that banner up there. I'm not that poodle on the right. Over there's my puppy mascot, Aubrey.
At the top of the page, you'll find links to my poetry, my blog, and my short stories.
I write poetry about current events, history, emotions, nature. . . The list of topics has no end.
On my blog, I write about writing and technology. (I'm one of those people tempted to buy any new gadget that comes out). I also blog about my travel experiences, as someone who prefers beaches so much I might have saltwater in my veins. I also have a penchant for visiting palaces and castles. I've seen them in Germany, England, Spain, and Italy — all in my wheelchair.
One of my short stories as a contemporary setting, another a Gothic feel reminiscent of Poe or Brontë. Yet another might find its home among the comedic acts of the 1940s or 50s. I can't say for sure when it happens. It's a scene that materialized in my mind.
When I'm not writing short stories or teaching academic and technical writing, I'm working on a historical fiction novel. Because I have so many writing interests, I call this site Wayfaring Writings and a Wheelchair.
Come on in, and take a look around. Let's get to know each other better. You can use the menu above to read a poem, a short story, or blog post. You can use the form below to sign up for my newsletter. I'll send occasional emails about new blog posts and short stories. I'll also pass along updates on how my novels are doing.
